The arena-rock boom of the ‘70s gave birth to many recognizable bands, but Foghat was in a class of its own. The band’s all-American blues-rock sound was crafted by a group of Englishman, ironically—but their hard-rocking jams were so good that no one has ever thought to question it. Foghat tickets are sure to sell fast, so get them now.
The band formed in 1971 in London. Its members include “Lonesome” Dave Peverett on vocals and guitar, Tony Stevens on bass, Rod Price on guitar and Roger Earl on drums. They released their self-titled debut album in ’72, immediately making inroads with music fans that loved their old-school jam fests, which they would make a staple of their music.
While fans eagerly bought up their many albums, the most popular by far was Foghat Live. “Lonesome” Dave Peverett, the band’s frontman, sadly died from cancer in 2000, but that didn’t stop his band maters from reforming and continuing their legacy with a new vocalist, Charlie Huhn. Concert tickets continue to sell quickly whenever Foghat tours.
